World Day to Combat Desertification 2016

The Greens, Better World Cameroon, CCESN, SURUDEV, Y’ems Group, Alliance Française, La Liberte Arts Group and Environmental organizations of Bamenda in a bid to commemorate and celebrate the World Day to Combat Desertification 2016 be organizing a movie screening, followed by a debate on the theme: “Inclusive cooperation for achieving Land Degradation Neutrality” and Slogan: Protect Earth. Restore Land. Engage People

The event shall feature the screening of the Documentary "GREEN" directed by Patrick Rouxel (www.greenplanetfilms.org/product/green-a-film-by-patrick-rouxel/), spoken words by Prince Ea titled Man Vs Earth and Sorry,  and then a drama and a debate which focus on the pros and cons of deforestation.

The play takes place in the following context: In a village, a multinational proposes to build roads and school against the right to exploit the forest for palm oil industry. What should we do? The play triggers the audience to get rid of morality and go to the roots of the problem: why is there deforestation? 

After the play, the whole public will be invited to share and to debate on the pros and cons of deforestation.

To close the event, we will enjoy a coherent and sustainable cocktail: bring your traditional cup to share it with us!

On Saturday, the change-maker Team will hike to the Tubah Upland Forest and stay there for two days during which they shall work for Mother Earth and have fun! Join us for the hike and nights at the forest!
